One Huge Page of Detailed Link Lists:  Why?

While this single page takes a while to load, we have deliberately resisted the temptation to shrink it to a mere (much faster loading) page of links pointing to separate pages of the detailed link lists below.  Why?  We've used this page lots.  And with the current design, we feel that (thus far) any delay in loading it is compensated by at least these advantages:  1) Once this page is downloaded, it exists in its entirety within the cache on your machine, making it all instantly accessible (and savable to disk in one operation);  2) Once it's loaded, you can use "Ctrl-F" to quickly jump down or up the page in search of any term irrespective of the category it might be in.  3) Or, you can click on a category, jump to its detailed link list, then use the scrollbar to quickly scroll the numbered, alphabetized, (and sometimes very long) list--in the context of the surrounding lists.  From there you can either click on the desired link, or click on any of the many "BACK TO TOP" links [ ] to jump back to the top, where the Resource Categories are, then quickly jump to other categories.

9. FileZilla - A fast and reliable FTP client and server [A-]

Highly recommended."  --John Dvorak, PC Magazine Article.  FileLocator Pro offers the most affordable way to exhaustively search your computer for all your important data. Firefox - [A-] Award-winning web browser from Mozilla is now faster, even more secure, and highly customizable.  I have used IE, Netscape, Opera, and other browsers.  But by far, Firefox is  my favorite.   Here, I discuss how I use it to load approximately 20 news sites into convenient tabs, all in one click.

24. QuicKeys [A-] - Automates nearly anything that can be done with your mouse and keyboard

QuoteTracker  [A-] (Click on thumbnail to enlarge.)  QuoteTracker is a Windows program that integrates with various data feeds, brokers and financial sites to provide you with streaming real-time quotes, Live intra-day charts with Technical Indicators, Level II quotes, Time and Sales, alerts, news monitoring, and everything else you may need to trade in today's market.
26. Screamer Radio [A-] - Freeware Internet Radio player and recorder with huge database of diverse radio stations worldwide.
27. Spybot-S&D [A-] - Protect yourself against spyware
28. StripFile [B] - Strips the redundant information often contained in GIF, JPEG, PNG and HTML files, reducing their size by sometimes as much as 40 or 50%.  (Use with much caution, and bullet-proof backups.  This is a double-edged sword that can cut painfully against you.)
29. System Information Utilities - Gizmo's Support Alert Newsletter (Free Edition, Issue 145, 24th May, 2007) discusses four of my favorites--all free!--[Bracket letter grades are mine--Tom]:

System Information utilities cover a number of different functions including system description, hardware and software cataloging and system benchmarking.  Different system information utilities have varying strengths in each area. For example the old AIDA32 [A] and its latest incarnation Everest [B-] are very strong in cataloging while Gabriel Topala's excellent SIW utility [A-] is perfect for examining the configuration of a particular machine. PC Wizard 2007 [A-], is a system information utility suggested by subscriber Jason Mogonji that is strong in workstation description and benchmarking . . .

35. X-Setup Pro [A] - The mother of all tweakers. X-Setup Pro is a so-called "tweaker" program; it allows you to change settings that are normally hidden deeply in Windows fast and easily. There are many hidden settings in Windows as well as in a lot of other programs and normally you can't change them.  X-Setup Pro knows 1,900 of these settings and displays them in an easy to use interface. Simply choose what you want to tweak, select the setting in question, make your change and hit the "Apply" button. It's that easy.
36. [A-] - Free (for home use) and amazingly versatile file management and synchronization utility with over 200 switches--including drive cloning.  The XXCOPY web site is loaded with helpful information about this power house file manager.  And the XXCOPY Group on YAHOO! 37. ZTreeWin [A] - Very powerful, native 32-bit, text-mode file/directory manager for Windows.  Many features, and screen sizes, colors, and resolutions:
    The ZTreeWin web site, and the sites it points to, are loaded with helpful information about this versatile tool.  And the ZTreeWin Forum is rich with comments, questions, and answers from users--and, from ZTree's author, Kim Henkel.
38. We discuss additional recommended software products, and computing tips, on this site's  ZEST! (ZTree Extensions Suite + Tips) page--which begins by describing methods and programs for "Unmatched 'Point & Shoot' File Productivity Within Windows."  Success with those methods should allow you to extend ZTree with other programs, to then easily point, shoot, and accomplish much, including: finding files, finding and replacing text in multiple files, eliminating duplicate files recursively across unlimited sub-branches--and, massively coping or cloning whole drives or complicated directories using any of hundreds of copy switches.
